First Grade is a wonderful year of discovery, change and growth.

We bring our lessons alive through hands-on learning experiences, both individually and in groups.  We take two exciting field trips in First Grade to learn more about our community and the wonders around us.

How we make a 1st Grade education come alive:

*  Students take a walking tour of the Town of Vienna to enhance our study of communities and how they work.

*  Students take a field trip to the Zoo to learn about the wonders of our world.

*  Students work independently, in small groups, and as a class to gain a better understanding of the lessons being presented.

It is Catholic Schools Week!

Please check the OLGC Weekly Newsletter (emailed this Thursday).  It has all you need to know about what our school is doing to celebrate Catholic Schools Week. 

Dismissal Reminder:

If your child is going home with someone other than your regular carpool, your child's teacher needs a note from both you and the parent who will be taking your child home. 

Additionally, if your child is attending ECAP (Aftercare), and is not regularly scheduled to do so, you must send a note to both your child's teacher and Mrs. Sudduth.

* This is to ensure that you have authorized your child being dismissed to someone else, and that your child has a ride home. 

* It is helpful if these notes are in your child's red folder that morning, or if an e-mail is sent to your child's teacher as soon as possible that morning.
